  32.    This  document is  intended as  a companion  to the  SDNMaker(c)
  33.    utility  as  used  to  prepare  electronic  submissions  to  SDN
  34.    International for Commercial Distribution Services.

  36.    Most online  services and CDROM  publishers will only  take true
  37.    shareware, that  is, productive applications,  utilities, games,
  38.    reference   databases,  etc..    and  will   not  accept   plain
  39.    informative  or reading  material.   A  few electronic  magazine
  40.    periodical are an exception.   Novels, advertisement slide shows
  41.    or reading, political dissertations and other similar things are
  42.    generally not accepted by most.

  47. SIZE LIMITATIONS

  49.    There is a  reasonable size limitation for  one program version.
  50.    The  limit is  the  capacity of  3  megs.   Special pricing  and
  51.    arrangements must be made for programs exceeding this size.

  56. TAG EXPLANATION

  58.    Each site  SDN can  deliver to  at this  time, is  listed below.
  59.    Many of the sites offer special cooperation with SDN.  Each site
  60.    is under independent management.

  62.    There  are three  description  tags used  in  this list.   Their
  63.    explanation follows.

  65.    Sites Accepts: This  tag   tells  what  operating   system  type
  66.                   software  the site  or  network  will accept  for
  67.                   posting consideration.

  69.    Media Tye:     Indicates the type of site  it is or what network
  70.                   community it serves.

  76. FEE and EXPLANATION OF DISTRIBUTION SERVICES

  78.    Submission must  be prepared  and meet the  criteria of  the SDN
  79.    Author Kit currently  posted at The SDN Project  BBS in Mediren,
  80.    Conneticut, U.S.A.  Either as Postal  Mail submissions on disks,
  81.    or SDNMaker electronic submission.

  83.    SDN charges a flat fee for blanket distribution services, not on
  84.    a per site basis.  SDN's fee for Commercial Distribution Serives
  85.    is $45.00 U.S.  dollars per program  version for delivery to all
  86.    sites listed that will accept the program type of software.  SDN
  87.    will give  concerted delivery  attempts (up  to two  weeks) when
  88.    meet with technical delivery problems.

  90.    Sites  may  change  without notice  due  to  sites  experiencing
  91.    connection problems, full storage disks, etc..

  95.    BUNDLE PRICE

  97.    If you will be distributing more than three programs at the same
  98.    time, you can obtain a "bulk"  price, a discount price.  Send me
  99.    email stating how many programs, how many disks, and I will send
  100.    back a proposed bulk price.

  105.    There  is  a flat  fee  of  $200.00  U.S.  for  distribution  of
  106.    coperate   non-shareware  demos.    A  demo   is  considered   a
  107.    demostration copy of  a commercial retail software  package that
  108.    is purchased through normal retail channels and has no shareware
  109.    registration fee.   Companies wishing  demo distribution  should

  159.         Applications,  WinSite(tm) is  now  mirrored  at CICA  but
  160.         located at  it's own  ftp and  www servers.   It publishes
  161.         it's own published CDROMs.  WinSite is mirrored many times
  162.         on the Internet  and should be considered  is an important
  163.         site.  It is reference by  c/net's (VSL) Virtual Shareware
  164.         Library, a  hot spot.   Delivery here  requires a  special
  165.         upload  template  different  for  each  operating  system.
  166.         Delivery  to this  site is  not available  to authors  who
  167.         submit  by  postal  mail.  It's  upload  template  can  be
  168.         completed with the SDNMaker utility.

  189.         SDN  operates it's  own  FDN  (File Distribution  Network)
  190.         inside Fidonet.  Composed of  30,000 bulletin boards world
  191.         wide, not all  of them carry SDN, it  is estimated between
  192.         10,000 to 18,000 do at any time.  It is impossible to know
  193.         as  Fidonet   thousands  of   individual  systems   linked
  194.         together, is very dynamic.  SDN  is the oldest established
  195.         FDN  and probably  the  most  linked carried.   Files  are
  196.         distributed  world  wide  by   many  means  including  two
  197.         satellite services.  Many large BBSes  such as EXEC-PC are
  198.         connected.

  207.         Garbo is located at in Finland.  Very popular with Europe,
  208.         they also have published CDROMs.   Garbo is very selective
  209.         about the programs  they post.  It is  mirrored around the
  210.         world  and  considered  a  major  shareware  site  in  the
  211.         Internet  community.   Garbo  requires  a  special  upload
  212.         template  that SDNMaker  can produce.   This  site is  not
  213.         available for distribution if do no submit via SDNMaker.

  223.         for years.  The CD is popular  with BBS sysops as it plugs
  224.         online with little fuss.  NightOwl  also operates it's own

  238.         convience.  This is a difficult site to off-load to.

  307.         other sites  they mirror.  This  is an important  site for
  308.         coverage.
